My interviews are now complete, and I learned some information that will help guide me. I am really glad for my immediate family and friends for helping me out with these. From hearing from multiple perspectives I have seen that I need to keep people engaged while also keeping people informed. One challenge right now is getting into the motivation to commit to my leap. I have most of the parts put together in terms of how I want my format of an episode to look, but now it’s getting very real and I think that is making it slightly scary for me. My mom and dad have been really helpful for talking with me as I think of ideas for formats. They provide a perspective on getting information to people. Another challenge is how I am going to film my episodes. I have some working ideas including help from the Nice Network, but as of right now I am in quarantine, so I need to be sure that when I get to making that first episode it can be done from anywhere. During my interviews, I discovered that having a one-person telling people about a topic probably won’t be very engaging, so now my format idea is specifically debate/conversation style podcasts. I also have to think about how I’m going to pick people for doing these debates because I have to pick people that have opposing opinions that also are willing to have civil conversations. I don’t know if there is a way to guarantee they can do that, but I’m willing to try. I think from this point forward the only things left to do would be to find people, research the first few episodes’ topics, and investigate hardware and software for producing it. From today, September 21st, to around November 19th when the leap journey ends, I think that I have enough time to have at least one episode recorded and published.
